Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

I am missing 'Allow accessories to connect' in 'Privacy & Security' in 'System Settings'.

I am missing 'Allow accessories to connect' (German: 'Verbinden des Zubehörs erlauben') in 'Privacy & Security' in 'System Settings'.

On my Mac Studio I do not have the possibility to access 'Allow accessories to connect'!!!!!

On my MacBook Pro 2021 (Apple M1 Max) I am having access to this menu!!!!!

I have reinstalled the most recent macOS Version 13.4 on my Mac Studio. Sadly nothing has changed!

I am using Logitech Unify with a USB dongle and a Sennheiser headset with the corresponding USB dongle.

They stopped working with the update 13.3.1 an do not have the possibility or the means to allow the connection of the needed USB dongle to continue using the daily needed equipment!!!!!

How can 'reinstall' the missing choice 'Allow accessories to connect'?

missing the "Allow accessories to connect within the "privacy and security settings" on my Mac studio macOS 12.7.2 Monterey, 64gb. M1 ultra ( risks in upgrades too much to take for me).

Device directly to the computer by USB-C to USB-B. single cable.

Tried C to A too same result.

I needed my newly purchased peavey guitar amplifier (USB type) for recording to Logic Pro.   I can see the peavey VYPYR-X2 (It doesn't require additional software either).  My Yamada (connected by USB) works, it got all permissions using their software,

But Peavey is plug and play.

Sent apple the information directly. its 2024. Issue got to be resolved its been a problem for many forum users

If your Mac asks you to allow an accessory to connect

You need to allow new USB or Thunderbolt accessories and SD cards to connect before you can use them with your Mac laptop computer with Apple silicon.

When you use a new or unknown USB accessory, Thunderbolt accessory, or SD card with your Mac laptop with Apple silicon and macOS Ventura or later, you get an alert that asks you to allow the accessory to connect. If your Mac is locked, you need to unlock it before you can allow an accessory to connect.

If you choose Don't Allow, your Mac won't recognize the accessory or give it access to the data on your Mac. But the accessory can still charge itself or charge your Mac. The next time that you use the accessory, you'll be asked to allow it to connect again. If you don't get an alert when you connect an accessory, make sure that you're running the latest version of macOS or check your settings.

If your Mac has been locked for three or more days, you might need to unlock it to use a previously allowed accessory again.

Change the setting for allowing accessories to connect

By default, your Mac laptop with Apple silicon asks that you allow a new or unknown accessory to connect. To change this setting:

  1. Choose the Apple menu  > System Settings.
  2. Click Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down and click the pop-up menu next to "Allow accessories to connect," then choose which option you want. Learn more about the options.

On supervised Mac laptops with Apple silicon, administrators can control this setting.

Manage this setting using Apple Configurator

If you use your Mac laptop with the lid closed

First, you need to allow an external display, a mouse, and a keyboard to connect to your Mac laptop. Then you can use your Mac with the lid closed (or with a docking station in which you place your Mac with the lid closed), and allow other accessories to connect without opening the lid.

Try a different third party dongle (?)

If in doubt refer to the developers website; Support/Help/FAQ/known issues/compatibility /updates...

Contact a third party vendor

Try updating your Unifying Software (?)

I see no default option in my settings...

I'm having this problem too.

Under security settings there is no button to allow Jouse2/Compusult.

Most of the things I’m using are USB-A and I’m using a USB hub and an Apple USB-C to USB Adapter. The Jouse2 is connected to the hub and stops working. I have to have a non-disabled person unplug and plug the USB cord to the hub to get it working again.

Any solutions to this problem?
