Game controller in bluetooth devices list but not in system settings list

Hi! I've connected my MOGA XP-ultra (Power A) controller to my 2019 21.5" iMac running Sonoma 14.1. I can see the controller in the list of connected bluetooth items.

I downloaded an Apple Arcade game to my mac and I wanted to play it using the controller. However, when I had connected the controller and then opened the game, the controller controlled nothing :(. The game was 100% unresponsive. So, I looked around the interwebs and the wisdom was that I should go to System Settings>Game Controller in the sidebar.

There are some bluetooth devices listed in the sidebar: my airpods, keyboard, trackpad... no game controller.

So, does anyone know how to get the rest of my mac to know that the game controller exists and is connected and not just the bluetooth part of my mac?

Many thanks!

Basically, this controller is not compatible with Macs.

The MOGA XP-Ultra wireless controller, although designed for multi-platform compatibility, including PC, Xbox, and Android, unfortunately, does not natively support Mac connectivity. The controller’s wireless mode only supports Direct Input (D-input) intended for Android devices.

If you still want to try using this controller with your Mac, you’ll need to connect it via a wired connection in X-Input mode.
