How to autoplay next episode of an Apple Podcast?

Same here. I’ve done enough search for such a simple thing.

maybe switching the app is the best option.

The only option for that is to create a station.

I made one for “recent podcasts”. When you go to that station, select a podcast, hold and press it to add to your queue/play next, it adds all the episodes, or at least the amount you add the station to show.

That’s a very not practical thing to do, but works. 🤷‍♂️

I swiped left everything in the up next section, and then clicked on the podcast and held my finger. And then added it to the que. And now it plays continuously.

Hi do you know if this setting has changed recently? I have toggled continuous playback off in my settings and it still auto plays. I’ve restarted the podcasts app and my phone. Is this a new bug? Am I missing something?

this design requires the user to select play order on each podcast. the option to select play order on a podcast only becomes available after following the podcast. it's an aggravating user experience, but i finally figured out how to (partially) override this aspect of the design shambles of the apple podcasts app.

There is an option for ‘continuous playback’, but it isn’t in the app, it’s in the Podcasts section of Settings.

Go to Settings, scroll down to Podcasts, then scroll down (a long way down) to Continuous Playback.

So far as I can tell, this allows you to listen to all episodes in one podcast.

It’s not ideal.

This is a bit drastic and I didn’t have a huge number of podcasts in my library, but when I’m hooked on a podcast, I only listen to that till I’ve caught up anyway. So, before I did the following, after an episode, all the other podcasts in my library were listed to Play Next at the bottom, ie my true crime episode would finish then I’d be launched into a random paranormal episode of another podcast or something. So I just removed everything from my library except my current podcast and another I really like. After that, all episodes of the podcast I was listening to were listed below instead and they play chronologically.

After a lot of digging I found a simple solution to listening to 1 podcast continuously.

Create a channel with 1 podcast in it. Make sure you have continuous play selected in podcast settings. Play your channel from THE HOME SCREEN by long holding the Podcast App. Play your channel.

I search this up about five times and it shows me the same thing or does it say Google podcast and I have a Apple iPad so it never shows me what I want the app that I’m looking at is Podcasts it’s a purple app with a podcast sign on it does anybody have this problem because I do nothing shows up I can never do anything on it just never does anything and it’s useless. The Internet really needs to add that because I’ve been sitting here like five minutes and I want to go to bed.

I ended up getting an iPhone 5s as a podcast phone it only has 32GB. If you touch the three dots upper right corner and choose settings you can choose oldest to newest or newest to oldest.

From the settings wheel on the main screen choose continuous play or turn off continuous play. It will play all of that podcast one after the other. It works with CarPlay too.
