screen is black with lines at the top
the iMac was handed down from my father-in-law, and worked perfectly fine up until yesterday. This morning, I turn it on, it had previously been in sleep mode, and it was fully black with only white lines at the top. I could barely make out the icon for me to sign in.
I tried all the hard reset options I found in the forums. Even tried unplugging it, pausing for 15 seconds of plugging it back in. The only thing I can think of is an outdated software issue. It has been asking me to update my software for the last couple weeks and I was ignoring it. But could this really be the case? Any help is greatly appreciated.
