siri shortcut dictate text function fails

I have a 2-line shortcut that says "Dictate text" and then passes that text into my task manager using the command "Add dictated-text as Task to Inbox". It works perfectly when I run it within Shortcuts. It works perfectly when launched from a homepage. But when I try to use it with Siri (which was the point), it asks for the text and nothing happens.

I've checked that the privacy permissions are all in place--the shortcut has access to both the app and voice recognition. All my software is up to date.

I would be so grateful for any insights into what I'm missing here.
