Sound recognition

Can you explain to me what is the point of the sound recognition option in the iPhone? I found it only useful if you have Apple Watch and an iPhone but what about if you have only an iPhone, how can this be useful then?

Hi! One of the many use-cases is actually for those that are hard of hearing. It's one of iPhone's many accessibility features. It wouldn't be fair to lock this accessibility feature to only Apple Watch owners, so it just makes sense to have it on iPhone since many people have their phone on them most of the time.

Remember, most of us do not work for Apple (including myself), so we can't give an official response, nor can we speak for Apple.

I hope this helps!
