Same thing happening here. Also affecting my Sony 120p footage.

You are able to transcode the footage in Adobe Media Encoder and Handbrake. Definitely not an acceptable solution.

Same exact thing here. Was working fine last week. now all of my Mavic 3 D-Log 10-bit 5K files show up as black clips. What the actual F?

My whole project is on hold. And it’s hours on top of hours of editing work. This is so unacceptable. And no response or explanation from Apple.

This has happened a few times to us. Our drone company has a lot of drones and something you just gave to keep trying different things to make it all work.

Yesterday I updated and now have the same problem as you described. So much work and timelines are involved. Simply transcoding is not acceptable because some of the clips in a timeline are so specifically edited. I calculated the time transcoding and partly re-edit those clips, it will take me like 50 days!

Anyone got another solution?

Did you update to macOS 13.5.1 and Final Cut Pro 10.6.8?

Although QuickTime Player does not yet play my sample DJI_Mavic3_5k_H264_10Bit420 movies, FCP does.

And if I convert them to ProRes 422 HQ or H.264 or H.265 with ffmpeg, they work also in QuickTime Player:

ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -c:v prores_ks -profile:v 3 -timecode 00:00:00:00 -c:a copy prores422hq.mov

ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -c:v libx265 -crf 28 -preset medium -timecode 00:00:00:00 -tag:v hvc1 -c:a copy h265.mov

ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p -crf 23 -preset medium -timecode 00:00:00:00 -c:a copy h264.mov

I have been back and fourth with Apple regarding this issue and at the end they will not do anything to help or resolve this issue. I had a whole project that I had to re-edit. It cost me time and money. And after this, I am done with Apple. They simply don’t care about their costumers.
