Itunes “installer is no longer responding” Windows 10 64 bit

So tried to launch itunes on my laptop this morning and it said I had to install a new version. It wouldn’t automatically remove the old version so I had to do this myself. Now when I try to install the latest version of iTunes it only gets so far and then I get a message saying “installer is no longer responding”. Tried several times and re-booted the laptop between attempts, still the same message.

Any advice would be appreciated. It’s a Windows 10 64 bit laptop.
