The phone hangs up by itself after 1 to 2 minutes

It’s an iPhone SE 2020 with the same situation as the one described here: The phone hangs up by itself - Apple Community

When I receive a call, after 30 seconds to 2 minutes, the phone hangs by itself, UNLESS I am talking through my AirPods or other audio devices. Speaker and normal audio will result in call ending sooner or later.

Things I have done to test this:

I have tried with two different carriers.
I have reset the phone to factory status
I have updated the OS

I guess there must be an audio problem…

Apple please help!!

I found it in another thread: Settings> Accessibility > SIRI > Call Hang-Up: Turn it OFF.

Hi,

Thanks SannonM1. Your reply is the best one, though I must say that what really solved the problem was upgrading to iOS 16.5. It looks like there was a problem with 16.4.x that affected at least iPhone SE 2020. They solved it with 16.5, so the problem is no more present.

Too bad Apple did not communicate / notice about the problem earlier. It has been a horrible experience for the last months.

With this issue happening across multiple carriers as well as after a reset, what we'd recommend is for you to contact Apple Support. This way, they can look into this directly with you and complete some further diagnostics to see what's causing this.

My friend using iphone 12 facing the same issue where the call hangs up in 2mins . iOS version used is 16. Can someone assist on this behaviour

Did someone found the fix for this issue? I have this problem on an Iphone 11. My wife also has the same problem with her phone. After a few minutes the call hangs up.
