Advantages and disadvantages of the inprivate window?

While most cross-site scripting hacks are prevented by most web browsers, there are sophisticated methods that subvert the normal browser protections because session data is shared among open windows/tabs. Private browsing windows do not share session data with others. So, using a private window while using financial sites would be safer. It's possible that particular problem was fixed in the last five years since I took that class.
