All maps, Apple & Google, Crash and blackout and freeze on CarPlay
Same issue as everyone else. Never an issue with previous iPhones, and I drive different cars weekly with rentals and work travels, so it’s 10000% not the cars. Same issue in every car.
iPhone 14 Pro Max has now been “fully rebuilt internally” twice by Apple stores due to freezing issues, and it never works. I cannot use ANY map. Google bricks & freezes, and at the same time, Apple Maps will brick and refuse to load. CarPlay especially but when it does this, disconnect fully, and try to just use maps in hand on phone—both Google and Apple will crash or be blank, and refuse to even load, and not work after resets either.
How did I realize it’s 100% a phone issue? Got so aggravated at Apple refusing to replace the phone, and spending more to gut & rebuild the “full system replacement” twice, with the same issues after…
I gave up and bought a 2nd iPhone & 2nd line at Verizon for a spare. And? Same software backup loaded on my new cheaper iPhone 14 Plus…and never a single CarPlay or maps issue ever. Same exact restore. And as my Pro Max bricks & overheats, I now know to switch over to my cheaper base model 14 Plus…and every map works every time…and nothing crashes.
