Hi, I'm running OS 12.6.6, and my machine's Preview won't show previews from the Canon R5C and R6 II cameras. I see on Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey - Apple Support
that they'e not supported, so I'm just wondering when they might be added? Both have been out for some time now.

Both cameras are listed as supported from 13.4 onwards. So either upgrade to the latest version of Ventura or use a 3rd party raw converter.
Btw: you can find a list of the supported cameras in the System Report:
System Settings -> General -> System Report -> Raw Support
This is usually more up-to-date than the webpage listing.

Development for Monterey is dead since Ventura was released. The only way some feature would be introduced is if it was necessary to fix a security problem.
Nobody here would know that unless Apple announced it somewhere. Making announcements about future capability has never been a priority for Apple.
We will probably see new system versions with new RAW support right after the next WWDC, June 5. It is the the traditional time for the release of new system versions.
OK follow up: when will support for these files reach EITHER Monterey or Ventura, as both cameras aren't on either list (Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura - Apple Support)?

FWIW, I believe I read somewhere both the Canon RSC & R6 II are supported in Ventura 13.4. I don't own either camera so I can't confirm that.
Any idea when (Monterey) Preview will be able to show the Canon R5C and R6 II .cr3 files?
