I received a notice that my Photo Stream will shut down on July 26th. Does this replace my Google Photos? Or is this something separate? I would appreciate any feedback.

It has nothing to do with Google Photos. It is an Apple service that is being discontinued. It was a way to upload your photos from one device to another. See: My Photo Stream - Apple Support

It’s separate. Photo Stream is an Apple product, Google Photos is run my Google.
Does this replace my Google Photos? Or is this something separate?
