This USB C 2 Way Switch works for me. Tested working KVM feature of sharing an Apple Studio Display by two M1 Macbook with their Thunderbolt 4 ports. Verified monitor switching in full native resolution, camera, audio, USB ethernet plugged into the monitor. The product is spec at USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbps while Thunderbolt 4 is 40Gbps, but I can't tell the difference between connecting via this KVM switch and connecting directly using Apple OEM Thunderbolt cable to the 5K monitor. Maybe because this USB C switch support 8K while Studio Display is only at 5K, so it has enough juice to switch for Studio Display at least?
Caveat: 1) Requires external 5V/1A USB power, so your Studio Display downstream 0.5A USB hub is not enough. 2) My older 2018 Intel Mac Mini Thunderbolt 3 port shows default resolution of only 2K via this USB C switch, though I can still scale to 4K with OSX Setting | Display menu, while the same Thunderbolt 3 port shows default 4K connecting via direct Apple Thunderbolt cable to the monitor without this switch. All M1 Macbooks Thunderbolt 4 shows default 4K fine. 3) Need to connect using the included USB C cable while Apple Thunderbolt cable actually is not working with this USB C switch. 4) Not working with 2012 Apple Thunderbolt Display.
This product only weight 6oz and cost about $50.
