Hi there, I have an m1 mini, 12.9, iMac intel booting from ssd today, iPad Pro 12.9 m2 NEED HELP????
Hi there,
BTW I have aphasia, plus I won't recall writing the following stream of mind. I had a brain injury - a brain abscess which left a lot of permanent issues. I apologize for my loquaciousness - to many words that took hours to write.
I have layered bunch of questions and I am hoping people can advise me? I am a full time digital artist and sound design lover and have both a drawing monitor plus latest iPad Pro m2 12.9. I do everything on the iPad and have for years since first iPad Pro. Finally, some depth has been given to the device though music devices have been awesome for a while. I had just bought logic for the m1 mini which is an amazing device that blew my mind. It's almost as fast as my iPads. Instant is what I was used to, but I bought one of the last Intel iMacs in 2019. NOW, it's fast because I bought a couple of 2 tb TB 3 ssd drives from pluggable and two usb4/TB4 hubs when on sale in Nov 22. I just got to it today. I booted Ventura 13.2.1 on it and it faster than it ever was.
I need to combine the Mac mini with iMac as 1st monitor and Huion 16" drawing tablet as well. Luckily I extended the tablet with a 12' cord - one female to male TB 3/4 to another and the drawing monitor works great - and it's connected to the hub! I checked a lot of boxes and read a lot.
I also use iPad with Luna Display little usb c plugged in to computer or hub work in other rooms etc. I could connect mini to iMac and use a good TB thunderbolt 4 cord but here I'm lost. I have a 1 tb drive on iMac that something was duplicating in ? creative cloud crashed over and over and I read that it was a big prob. Once before, I had whole system go and had to do everything new but of course had cloud backup. Something was going on then so I tried to pick and choose what to put back but could not figure it out?
I can now use the iMac as a new computer and just install some thing I hope? I don't want it to again go wrong. I have things like ableton live 10 but didn't like it then, now maybe, the entire adobe creative cloud suite, Logic Pro I just bought a week prior to announced launch of it on iPad. I was thinking initially of just doing all work on mini, and use iMac as screen but it would now be wasted if I did that since its as fast as the mini due to the ssd. I bought the same ssd and hub for mini but they can chain together.
How do I access the main drive slowly and choose what I want to move? It is odd that I had problems, all my photos use iCloud, creative cloud, and 2 more services and audio is on external. I do have documents but everything is iPad and iCloud. iMac would barely move, It looked like there were 30 levels deep in files from my user name down with duplicated mess. Maybe music on one and art on another? I got the 16g ram mini with 250g on sale for 600 or so at ADORAMA and of course paid a lot for 2tb ssd and hub but it's all working without actually booting from external. That's the same situation btw, a ton of different opinions on how to do it and if you should or should not! I would like to because I just read about the issues down the road it might face and then no drive no mini. I am using a bedroom studio with a new tall desk with shelves - got a new mini freak which I love but have to put under or to side then I have rolling laptop stand from LEVO with iPad holder mouse and phone. Plus the arm holder for IPAD amazing things from LEVO - all so I can work on anything I want by turning a bit? It's stupid but right now its in two rooms music with iMac in office and KRK speakers, but will be moved tomorrow. No need for using 3 different audio in devices or whatever.
