Can RFID Readers bypass the Wallet App security on my iphone?

I have had a recent discussion with someone who informed me of the value of an RFID wallet to secure my credit cards. I was also told that an RFID readers can bypass the security offered by the Wallet App on my iphone. I thought that the reason for using the Wallet App is that you have to "double click" the button on the phone to allow the purchase to go through and that the purchase infomation is encrypted and secure. Which one is the correct answer? Should I be using the Wallet App for RFID reader security reasons?
