Did you run the Diagnostic Report and did it provide any tips?
To open Wireless Diagnostics, hold the Option Key and click the WiFi icon in the menubar and choose Wireless Diagnostics. While you can choose Continue and let it run, I would not select the Monitor WiFi option. It will give some tips at the end and also save a report that I have not found very usable. Instead, just go to the "Window" menu and choose "Info". Below I posted the relevant portion of the Info Page:
It will show the quality of the connection as well as the channel connected to and the band. If the Channel Band is 2.4 Ghz and you have a modem capable of 5Ghz, then create a 5Ghz only wifi network on your router and forget the old network from you Mac and sign in to the new 5Ghz network. The 2.4Ghz band has become too congested with many devices using this band and this creates interference that will cause frequent disconnection.
Another option in the same Window menu is "Scan". This will show how many networks are using the 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz networks and how many are using the same channel. There are many other options in the Window menu to help in evaluating the WiFi network.

Mac Jim ID made some great suggestions!
I keep my 2.4 Ghz as a known Network on my device though, but I have it set to NOT automatically connect. (that way it's there if worse case I need it). Otherwise in the past, sometimes my network would just switch from 5 Ghz to 2.4 Ghz, which would significantly slow my MacBook :/
If your issue persists, maybe try to restart your router, or unplug it for a minute if the Router device itself feels warm to the touch.
