If you’ve confirmed the above, please update your iPhone to the latest iOS, 16.5 or higher. Older iPhones may only support 15.7.5, but Apple Pay will function.

  • Your card may not be supported by Apple Pay. Not all credit cards are supported by Apple Pay. You can check Apple's website to see if your card is supported.
  • Your card may not be activated for Apple Pay. If your card is not activated for Apple Pay, you will need to contact your bank or credit card issuer to activate it.
  • Your card may have expired. If your card has expired, you will need to get a new card from your bank or credit card issuer before you can add it to Apple Pay.
  • Your card may be blocked. If your card is blocked, you will need to contact your bank or credit card issuer to unblock it before you can add it to Apple Pay.
  • There may be a problem with your device. If you are having trouble adding a card to Apple Wallet, make sure that your device is up to date and that you have enough storage space. You can also try restarting your device.

If you have tried all of the above and you are still having trouble adding a card to Apple Wallet, you can contact Apple Support for help.
