Hey there iambatman_0809,

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.

You can follow the steps in this article for more information about capturing a Live Photo while on a FaceTime call on your iPad: Take a Live Photo in FaceTime on iPad - Apple Support. As it notes in that article, once your Live Photo has been created, you and the person you're on the call with will be notified and the photo itself will be saved in your Photos album.

If that isn't working as expected, then we would recommend making sure that your iPad is running the latest available version of iPadOS. You can follow the steps here to do that: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. iPadOS updates include fixes for unexpected issues so it's always important to make sure your device is updated. If the issue continues to occur after updating, another step you can try is temporarily turning FaceTime off and re-enabling it again.

To do that, simply pull up Settings > FaceTime and toggle FaceTime off. Wait a few moments before toggling it back on and then let FaceTime reactivate. After that, test the issue again and see if refreshing your account may have been the trick to resolving this.

We hope this does the trick for you!

Cheers.
