Spotify skipping with new Beats Studio earbuds

I have a mini Mac M1 Ventura 13.4. I was using Beats Fit Pro True Wireless Earbuds and had no problems with Spotify. I ordered Beats Studio Buds True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earphones and received them May 30th.

They work just fine on my Iphone 7S and in fact am listening to it now with no problems. I tried using them on my mac mini and every few seconds the music was skipping. Not skipping forward, just pausing

I found a forum that indicated to turn off the Cross fad (which I did) and the gapless playback which I have on my phone, but not on the Mac version of spotify. No changes. I am also not linked to facebook. it was suggested to log out.

How do I fix this? Now I am concerned that recording will do the same thing and I record a lot of things for work.

I could switch back to the first set, but I lost the right one and no one has turned it in yet.
