AirPods Pro 2 / randomly disconnecting / enable charging sound greyed out

Dear all,

recently I noticed that everytime I charge my AirPods Pro 2 start beeping everytime I take them off the charger, I then noticed that the option “enable sound” was toggled on and greyed out. Immediately after this started I noticed my AirPods cutting out from Bluetooth even though I was close to my phone. After disconnecting and 15sec reseting the pods I still get both issues after reconnecting. Any tips in how to fix this? I phone 13mini, all latest software as of 31.05.2023 Thanks

We want to clarify, when you say the AirPods were reset, are you referring to the process provided in How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro? If not, it would be a good idea to try this option and see if it corrects the issues you've been facing.

In regard to the disconnecting, does this happen in the same location or does it appear to be random? Have you had an opportunity to review Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference? This is great resource to help you determine if what you're experiencing is related to interference from various sources.

Hi Missy,

yes so i tell you what I have done in detail.

reason is that my AirPods disconnect randomly. Not in a certain area, or at a certain time. It usually happens when the phone is very close like 40cm - 60cm away.. not more.

the second reason is that inter settings of my AirPods the „ Enable Charging Case Sound“ switch is toggled on and greyed out.

I disconnected the AirPods from my iCloud account and also disconnected all other BT devices from my phone and restarted my phone. Then I did the resetting of the AirPods following the 15second (wait for the magenta light, then the white, then release) reset instructions.

This did not help any of my problems so now I’m at the start again. Random disconnect and Charing case sounds still greyed out.
