M2 MPB crashing when connecting to dock

Ever since the last Ventura update 13.4 (22F66) my computer crashes almost every day in the morning when I plug it into the dock. It's a TB3 dock with a dual DP adapter and two 4K displays. This has not been causing a problem until that update. When I see the computer restarted due to a problem is seems to be crashing in some kind of storage extension, but when I look inside of Console I am not sure how to find the error again to paste it here. I can update this if I can capture it from the restarted dialog.

Mac Pro, OS X 10.11

The dock works fine with chromebooks, intel macs and this M2 MBP until the last OS upgrade.

That only reinforces that it might be the software needed to make the dock work is broken and you need to contact the manufacturer for an update to that software. Maybe it will require a firmware fix to the dock.

If it did come with software to make it work, you might try uninstalling the software and then reinstall. You'll need to get the uninstaller from the manufacturer.

If you boot up into Safe Mode, does it still crash when you plug it in? If it does, then it is a hardware problem in the dock itself that would probably need a firmware patch.

So I have to get a new keyboard? Maybe the M2 just won't work for me? That doesn't make a lot of sense. They external keyboard has problems with and without a dock in place and I have used this keyboard for years on various machines. I still think something is broken in the software

I thought this was a MacBook Pro. Are you using an External keyboard? You mentioned a Trackball, earlier. Are you running software for one or both? If you are having problems with those, and they have system modifications to run them, that software could be incompatible and need an update, also. As Luis posted, run Etrecheck and post the report.

Updates will break third-party system modifications--the people who write them don't seem to be very good at their jobs. If the update broke all of those things, the forum would be filled with problems.

I have an M2 MBP and don't have any problems with my (albeit minimalist) dock or USB.

Try a different Dock and compare your results...

I don't have another dock other than a mini docker with a single HDMI which works fine. This dock has been working with all my previous computers and until the last version of the OS upgrade. I don't think I can attribute this bug to the dock. If I had another dock then I would not be posting this problem maybe, but that's not a solution. The dock works fine with chromebooks, intel macs and this M2 MBP until the last OS upgrade.

It also works fine if I restart the computer. So it has to be related to some kind of USB timing or exception while connecting. Once it's connected it works for a day or two just fine (I usually disconnect it so I have not tried a longer time.) I also noticed that my audio USB driver doesn't correctly see connect/disconnect events. I use SoundControl and it's supposed to select my Jabra speakerphone when connecting, but the connection change times out many times. When clicking on the dropdown to select the USB device I am also getting a large delay. I still believe something was changed in the USB drivers with the last OS upgrade and it's causing problems.

Maybe, I think it's just broken, because it works 99% of the time. Just when docking it's having problem negotiating for a few seconds. I am not really using anything apple or intel specific. I don't really have a way of upgrading this other than possibly getting a tb4 dock, which also needs the same DP adapter unless I use two USB-C to DP cables. I guess it's worth a try at almost $500. It seems silly however since it worked for several weeks when I first got the device and then just started failing with a OS upgrade. I am not happy about it and there is no good reason why this should no longer be compatible.
