For a long time now syncdefaultsd has been running at 100% CPU on my Intel iMac on Ventura 13.3.1.
Force quitting the process has no effect, it will return to the same state. The system logs show nothing related to syncdefaults.
It is primarily annoying because it keeps the fan busy on an otherwise idle machine.
Does anyone know a fix?

Restart and retest; upgrade to the latest OS version 13.4.
Restarting did not help.
OS version 13.4. is not accessible for download. I just have latest version macOS ventura 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a)
My problem is shown below (used data from system monitor):
kernel_task has processor usage more then 600%
I disconnected the second monitor today, it did not impact the syncdefaultsd at all, kept spinning at 100% core.
kernel_task process was lower with single monitor and increased again with the second monitor, which is expected since there is more to render.
OS version 13.4 was installed today. Nothing changed. Zoom or Slack calls causes huge processor consumption by kernel_task process.
updated to 13.4 today, syncdefaultsd happily burning away a core, no improvement...
Also no messages in the logs, nothing that helps understand what is going on...
Any ideas?
Additional point: this problem occurs only when other monitor is connected to the macbook. After second monitor was disconnected the kernel_task process returns to normal condition.
