iPhone 7 Microphone not working after iOS 15.7.6 Update

This is also happening to me after the 15.7.9 update with my iPhone 7. I understand that technology must advance but Apple should still not only honor those who have spent money on the purchase of these iPhones that once where new in the game but also test the updates to ensure that they work on these older iPhones and not compel the consumer to purchase another newer version when their present iPhones are doing what we want them to do therefore having no reason to upgrade on a much more expensive iPhone. It’s cruel and unjust to do to us consumers. It’s like Apple once made the money on us and now our iPhones are no longer important to them because the iPhone 15 is in the spot light. Apple get it together because who saids we’ll buy another iPhone and not another brand so we are still important, fix this issue already and let’s cut this crap out!!!

I don’t have original battery, but I got it replaced with genuine Apple battery in Apple Store in the year 2022 or 2021.

It is at 86% capacity. I called Apple customer care since Apple Store asked me to do that. Apple customer care ran diagnostics and there were no hardware issues. I have saved chat for future reference, so that I can proceed for formal complaint for this unethical behavior by Apple.

BTW, the phone works fine if I make and receive calls using my AirPods;

definitely a software update issue. Apple is disabling the functionality of a perfectly working consumer appliance. I don’t see how this is acceptable without offering a solution.

Apple employee smiled and laughed at me in Apple Store because I was using iPhone 7 plus and it is an old phone. They asked me to pay for hardware fix when they are at fault by intentionally disabling features of working phone by software update.

Note - I am able to make call via Apple Watch.

That didn’t work for me reboot. My phone started getting really hot when I do that too? No microphone and phone is otherwise workable. Calls can’t be taken but messages can be left on answer machine in phone… very odd.

Yes same thing happened to my IPhone 7. Reset but problem comes back after a few hours. Did you fix your problem in the end? Thanks Alex

This help reply was pointless and did not address the problem.

Has anyone figured out what to do? This is really frustrating. I can no longer use my phone unless it is hooked up to Bluetooth. This is crazy!

But its still the same.

now sometimes even Bluetooth audio and mic is not working.

I wish I can downgrade the iOS version.

Hi Alancito, thank you for your reply. I changed the battery some months ago in an official Apple store, so the battery is original.

What about writing directly to Apple in some way all together? We could signal the problem, highlighting the fact that it cannot be an hardware issue for all of us.
