DVD / CD burner player not working on 24" iMac maOS Ventura 13.4

Have DVD burner/player from late 2012 21.5" iMac; will it play on 2021 24" iMac macOS Ventura 13.4?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

If you mean the SuperDrive, it will work if plugged directly into a port using a USB to USB C adapter. No hubs or docks.
