Onscreen keyboard pops up when using bluetooth keyboard

This is actually an answer. Every discussion on this problem that I looked up was already closed and had no working answer for this problem. This is an iPad Pro with OS 16.5. I tried all the settings that Apple suggested, even turning it off and on again!!??? Mororns! So here's the solution that worked for me. Go to Settings-Accessibility-Keyboards-Full Keyboard Access and toggle the switch to ON (Green). I tried it with my keyboard, (which sometimes highlights stuff in a blue outline) but I still get the onscreen keyboard when I pull the iPad loose from the bluetooth one when I need it. And I still have all my touchscreen features whether or not I'm connected to the bluetooth keyboard. Yeah! Finally. I've been trying for a year for the solution, so I don't know if it's just in the update I did this morning or not, but it's working so far.

Thanks for the tip. It doesn't work with iPad6 mini 17.5.1. I have an external keyboard from my previous iPad supplied by Zag.There is a key which functions with fn to show or hide the on-screen keyboard. Nothing from my MBP can make the on-screen keyboard disappear.

Since it i now possible to use a computer to type on the iPad it would make sense for Apple to address this.
