I am interested in buying a new MacBook Pro but all the updated versions out now do not have the Touch Bar. My current MacBook has it and I love it very much. Do we know if it will ever make a comeback? I do not want to purchase a new computer if it has a chance of coming back. Thanks.

the touch bar macbook pro is completely discontinued. and even if you found a country with a page for the last touch bar macbook pro, you cant buy it if youre not in that country. to read about it, use the internet archive link i posted and if you want one get a refurbished or secondhand one
I fully understand the business side of things.
However, only Apple could have thought of such an amazing feature, which in my opinion, outperforms any computer brand in the world, as always.
To me, this idea is part of Apple’s DNA, thinking differently and bringing things forward, as opposed with other boring Windows PC manufacturers.
I still believe Touch Bar is a genius idea, dignified of Apple’s state of mind!
I refused to buy a new Mac last year because I want the Touch Bar. The least Apple could do is give us the option on the MacBook Air. I don't really want that cos I love my Pro even though I don't use all of its capabilities. However, if an Air is the ONLY way to get a TouchBar, I'll buy it. I am so tired of Aple giving us these great things things then dropping them.Maybe the Pro users prefer the function bar - fine. Put that on the Pros and let the other models have the Touch Bar. BTW, I've suggested this to Apple more than once not only in feedback, but EVERY time I've contacted support about ANYTHING!
Side note: Am I the only person who misses the ease of scheduling startup and shutdown from the system settings instead of having to go into the Terminal? Wasn't Apple the leading company in making things easier with all their GUIs? Who decided it was smarter, easier, MORE user-friendly, to move that option to the Tertminal?!!!! That person should be fired and sent to a pc maker.

Apple never offered the Touch Bar on the MacBook Air.
A quick skim of MacTracker suggests that it started out as a feature of mid-to-high end 2016 MacBook Pros: 15" ones and 13" ones with four Thunderbolt 3 ports. Low-end 13" ones with only two Thunderbolt ports did not get it. In the Apple Silicon era, only the 13" MacBook Pros (successors to the low-end 13" Intel MacBook Pros) had it. Those MacBook Pros were more akin to MacBook Airs than to 14" and 16" models based on Pro and Max chips.
I will not buy an apple without the touchbar. I love my 2020 mac book pro with the touchbar and that is literally the only thing I really like about my mac. So, I guess I'll just buy a Windows based laptop with specs twice as good as the mac for about half the price. You lost me because of this Apple!

Do those Windows laptops have a touchbar? But, if Windows computers better meet your needs, that's what you should get.
Also, Apple isn't reading here and I suspect most of us who are reading don't particularly care what you decide to buy.

the iPad can do that for you, either as a stand-alone device or as a Mac peripheral.
I hope 2024 MacBooks will have it! I love that it gives you more options then just the fn keys
... please bring back the touch bar!! I refuse to upgrade to the new mac book pro without it. :(
