Reinstall MacOS High Sierra can’t contact Server

I am unable to have PHOTOS or CONTACTS App contact my Apple ID account. I tried calling Apple Support and they were unable to help.

When I did a restart holding Command + R it opened the MacOS Utility. I selected “Reinstall macOS” and clicked on “continue”. After a minute or so a window opened saying “The recovery server could not be contacted”.

SUGGESTIONS?

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

If you're doing this over Wi-Fi then get closer to the router (IE: be in the same room). Better still use the ethernet cable that came with your router as it will be more reliable - if you're able to.

The other thing to check is the quality and robustness of our internet service. Does your ISP offer good download bandwidth? I would also make sure no-one else is using your internet service whilst you attempt the reinstall. You don't want major online gaming going on by other members of your household as it just won't happen.
