Calendar server & email invitations!

My Calendar server is up and working fine *untill one tries to invite someone who isn't part of out server directory, aka an email invitee.*

The CalDAV server sends the invite fine (the person receives an pretty HTML email with a .ics attached)
The person can Accepted or Decline and a reply email is sent.
The Mail server receives that email and puts it in "Calendar Server Mail"

BUT the person who made the event doesn't get the little green tick or red cross. so they have no way of telling if one has Accepted or Decline the event.

is any one eles having this problem?

The above seems like a good clue to me.. It looks like it's complaining that you've not yet set the calender user's email address.. I think I read about that somewhere in the docs for SLS..

Thanks osx-addict, I don't have email set in workgroup manager for all users. I had to also make sure the user's local address book had the "work" email set to be the same in their vcard in Address Book.

I can't believe I think it is all finally working!!! Doing some further testing to verify, but looking good so far.

I noticed that for some external originating meeting invites, iCal local will automatically add the meeting to the user's calendar and sometimes not. The meeting.ics attachment (such as from Exchange) does not while an invite with an invite.ics attachment (such as from google calendar) actually does go directly in to iCal local per the preferences to do so. Opening the meeting.ics attachment will get it into iCal so that's not a big deal. I suspect it's Microsoft not following open standards.

A remaining issue is that old meeting invites received before adding a user's email address into WGM are all unaccepted now and the user cannot accept them since it complains about not have privileges on that calendar event. I might have to delete those meetings and reopen the invite attachment if the user has them still. Otherwise, just leave them and move on.
