Sounds, not notifications, sounds within messenger

I have all notifications off for messenger. I haptics off.

So when I’m in a chat with someone there is no sound when they are writing and there no sound when I receive their message.

I have not changed any settings but the sounds in messenger are back!!

I reviewed the settings at least 20 times, all settings are the same, but haptics is back on in messenger.

Nothing is every straight forward or intuitive with Microsoft
