Airport express base station a1084

I recently purchased an airport express base station model A1084 from a thrift shop, and I’m wondering, is there a way I can set it up and use it with airplay audio in 2023?

Unfortunately, the software needed to set up and configure the old AirPort Express is not going to be available on any Apple product that has been produced in the last 10 years.

If you have a PC, you might want to try.....

Download AirPort Utility 5.6.1 for WindowsApple Official Apple Support › ...

This software was designed for use on Windows 7, so not sure how well......or if.....it will run on newer operating systems.

Yes, in theory this AirPort Express base station model can still be used for AirPlay streaming. Note; however, that it only capable of 802.11g wireless.

Is your goal to use this base station in conjunction with an existing wireless network, or as a stand-alone device?
