How to factory reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support - "Learn how to wipe information from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and restore your device to factory settings." Tap Settings > General > Reset (scroll all the way to the bottom)


Erase a device in Find Devices on iCloud.com - Apple Support

As long as it can connect to wifi, you can do as instructed in that article.

No Joy. When I get to the erase this phone screen, and hit continue, I get to uploading data to icoud. I hit erase now and the next screen asks for my apple id password. When I enter the pw, it just sits there, mocking me. There is a button for forgot password, but that does nothing. The only way to get out of this dead-end is to turn off and restart the phone. What should I try now?
