How sign in to alternate email address?

Trying to access my secondary email address on iCloud.

I can get the main address, but I seem to remember I have to log out, and log back in with the alternate email address.

But it will not remember my password. And when I try to reset the password, it will not send a confirmation code to my iPad, so I cannot change the password.

So I am stuck.

How do I access the iCloud emails, for my alternate email address?

Why is this address not linked to the main address?

Your Apple ID address and rescue mail address are exactly the same , so whenever you try to reset Apple ID password using rescue mail address , the code goes to iPad it will not be accessed as you also don't know rescue mail address " password " , the Apple ID password is different from it .

The rescue mail address is always added in the Apple ID account , sign in with Apple ID account , if it's not yet added create a web mail account say with gmail service https://support.google.com/mail/answer/56256?hl=en

Make sure this mail address and password should be totally different than your Apple ID address / password see the section of rescue mail address in this article About your Apple ID email addresses - Apple Support in the same iPad open a new tab ( press command and T keys ) sign in with your gmail account here in the web mail account you will see this code , come to the old tab in which apple id account is already opened , fill up the code in the fields and click on done to save .

Now you can reset Apple ID password If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
