Faint Burning Smell From A Recently Purchased MacBook M1

I bought my MacBook Air 13(M1) around 3 months ago

I don't know if this was smell here was there before or not but when I really go up close to the upper middle half of the keyboard and kind of smell it, I smell a really faint burning plastic smell

was just wondering if this was anything to be concerned about

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.4

It takes somewhat of an experienced nose to distinguish the characteristic bouquet emitted by newly manufactured electronic components. There are normal odors and abnormal odors. Normal ones gradually diminish with the passage of time, and no new odors should present themselves.

If you are concerned you should definitely avail yourself of Apple's technical support, here: Official Apple Support. They may want you to bring your Mac to an Apple Store or AASP for a definitive conclusion. In the meantime give your Mac every opportunity to keep itself cool. Don't use snap-on plastic cases or "skins", and don't put anything over the keyboard. Read more on that subject here: Keep your Mac laptop within acceptable operating temperatures - Apple Support.
