I was playing Dying light for long period of time then I notice a weird curry like smell. I tried to source where the smell came from and the closest to the source was near my iMac. Why would it smell like that?

Either you missed diner or the iMac became extremely hot from extended game play and inadequate cooling.
The all-in-one thin iMac's are not the best machines for intense game playing because they can not dissipate heat like a PC tower or gaming console. You can increase the cooling by using a fan utility like https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control. However even with increased cooling, playing those types of games will shorten the life of the iMac and they really should only be played on a gaming tower or console.
If the iMac is cooked and experiencing GPU issues or not working, then you will need to schedule a service appointment.
I agree with the heat issue...
Have you blown the dust out of the intakes lately?
What temperatures does this App report? Especially the GPU.
This App can be used to speed up the fans, all my iMacs would be dead without it.
Never ever ever drop fan speeds below the speed that the Mac itself is calling for.

It was just yesterday I started smelling the weird smell. I shut it down and let it cool, then started the computer again. It worked fine, was just the smell and heat problem.
Next time, if you dare play that game on the iMac..? Try using MacFanControl and increase the fan speed up to around 2500 rpm.

That is still a very confined space with marginal cooling for heavy gaming.
I contacted Apple and they told me to restart the SMC, but I haven’t tested the results.
