streak in moon photo

just updated my iphone 14 & now trying to take photo if full moon but there’s a streak thru the moon & the candle on the deck. How can I get rid of the streak-never seen before

iPhone 5, iOS 10

The OP Clearly said they have an iPhone 14. The tag line is obviously very outdated.


They couldn't have possibly taken the shot they posted with an iPhone 5 anyway.


But the photo clearly shows lens flare, which can't be fixed. Had the OP looked at the iPhone screen before they took the photo, the lens flare would have been plainly visible. In situations where one tries to take a photo at night where bright lights are in the scene, angling the phone differently could have eliminated the lens flare.

What you are seeing in the image is called lens flare. A lens flare happens when light is scattered or flared in a lens system, often in response to a bright light, producing a sometimes undesirable artifact in the image as you are seeing with the moonlight and candlelight.

You cannot remove it from the image with the available software on the iPhone.

Time to Upgrade:

You have quite an old phone (iPhone 5). So, consider this a good reason to upgrade. Note that Apple's iSight Camera is manufactured for everyday, personal home use --not for high-end photography.
