Mac Mini and Samsung M8 not detecting webcam

Hi all, I have a new mac mini and samsung M8 and it is not detecting my webcam. From previous posts I have plugged a USB-C into my webcam and directly into my mac mini and then restarted it. I have had no luck. I also changed the external settings in the monitor itself to usb-c meaning it should register the webcam. I am not sure what else I can do.

Are you attempting to use your Samsung as a webcam for the Mac mini?

This can be done with an iPhone, but an Android or other phone cannot be used with the Continuity Camera feature of macOS and iOS.

Please see: Continuity Camera: Use iPhone as a webcam for Mac - Apple Support

EDIT -

I understand now that you are working with a Samsung M8 Series monitor.

Please see this Samsung support document for additional guidance:

Make sure you are using Thunderbolt/USB 4 cables and not just USB-C. There IS a difference.

Thunderbolt/USB 4 cables can carry video. They are marked with the Thunderbolt logo at each end.
