‘an update is required to activate your ipad’

I JUST updated my iPad and even recovered it fully (multiple times at that) through my computer, but it keeps saying ‘unable to activate. an update is required to activate your iPad.’

I really am at a loss of what to do. I updated and reinstalled the ipad like three times by now through my computer, but this simply doesn’t go away.

The reported error relates to your computer - not the iPad itself. Common causes are iTunes not running the most recent (required) version to be able to restore/update/activate the Apple device. You should note that the most recent versions of iTunes for Windows requires the Windows PC to be running Microsoft Windows 10 or Windows 11.
