How do you unzip the downloads from privacy.apple.com

My iCloud has become unreliable. I wanted a backup. Apple created zip files on privacy.apple.com - How do I unzip them to put back my iCloud back together

How do you unzip the downloads from privacy.apple.com in a manner to restore your icloud drive

I get a zip file that says iCloud Drive Part 5 of 20.zip and then it has zip files in it.

If each of the 20 have 15 other zips underneath it then that is 300 zip files to process.

Is there a program that you are supposed to run to reconstitue your iCloud drive from the downloaded zip files

Sigh

Decompressing a Zip File:

Q1. "How do you unzip the downloads from privacy.apple.com in a manner to restore your icloud drive"

A1. "Decompressing" is what you are trying to perform. Download the *zip file, and then double-click it. This will decompress it.

Using an App to Decompress:

Q2. "Is there a program that you are supposed to run to reconstitue your iCloud drive from the downloaded zip files"

A2. No. Do as I mentioned above.

Download All of iCloud:

Go here, and see what is shown: icloud.com/iclouddrive. You have 5GB of space for free, given your location. So, download all of iCloud. Once dowloaded, verify that your an access what is in there. Once verified, trash what is in there, and you're set from there with a clean iCloud storage. Use my user tip: Getting a Quick and Direct "iCloud Drive-to-External Hard Drive" Download - User Tip

I understand how to unzip the zip files but there are 20 Main Zip files containing about 15 Zips inside for over 300 zip files that need to be unzipped and moved to the correct location.

Surely that is not how Apple plans for you to get your data.

Some zips have the iCloud root others are spread across the drive.

Can't believe that there are not instructions on what to do with the files on the privacy page.

Right now I just have a bunch of zips with random files in them.

Browsing the Download:

If you want to browser through iCloud, then view the download. What is downloaded is what is in iCloud Drive. Browse through the download using the Search Bard at the top-right cornet of a Finder window.

Compressing Keeps at Intact.

While compressed, all folders stay intact in the ZIP file —decompress them, and they stay organized the same. So, after you decompress the ZIP file, a folder by the same name is created, with the ZIP file staying aside. All folders and files within the Zip drive will say intact until it is decompressed. So, decompress it, and then search through the folders using a new Finder window on a Mac.

Decompressing:

So, when's the last time you decompressed a zip file and searched through it? Create a bunch of new folders and file on your Desktop > select them all > right-click > select "Compress". Then, double-click it and it will decompress, as a folder of the same name. All will stay intact.
