I occasionally have this issue: a click sound appearing on edit points, even when fade handles have been added.

Here is the screenshot of the video edit. The click is the same, present on the export whether it is from within the compound clip exported, or the sequence featuring the compound clip plus other edits.

Ross, it may well be that FCP is having trouble with the audio. Some variations of audio formats, especially those recorded by OBS and other consumer-oriented applications, may cause problems with FCP. In some cases, it might be helpful to "clean" the audio by running the source files through Compressor (with video set to pass through), importing into DaVinci Resolve or another NLE, or using a DAW application. After "cleaning", you should be able to use the files in FCP without issue. If the audio glitches happen when the source media is imported into another application, then there could have been a recording issue.

The audio at edit points needs to be crossfaded. Audio can never to cut; it always needs a transition even if only a few frames.
Add a short audio cross fade at the edit point.

But, yes, FCP has issues with handling certain flavors of audio. You might try optimizing (in FCP) files exhibiting this issue (if the source plays back fine outside of FCP). Transcoding outside of FCP may also help.
It seems making fade handles longer resolves the issue, but that does not always provide satisfactory edits on dialogue if you can hear more than you want to of the next word.
Yes that second link is also an edit point (between "them" and "was").
It's probably to do with the file being Canon .CRM ? Not a very FCP friendly format. But it is Linear PCM audio.
This seems to resolve the original edit I posted about, but there are various other clicks in the sequence which the cross fade hasn't rectified:

Not in the sources no, this is just on (some) edit points in my FCP sequence.
I'm still getting this issue on exports, even from .mxf files from a Canon C70. Thoughts?
So is there a minimum duration for the fade handles to work? I am always using them, as in my original post.
I should note that this issue appears in exports but not in the timeline playback.
