Hello vladimirfrompraha,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. We see you're trying to clear up storage on your iPhone. We have a few steps that can help.

To lessen the amount of storage that the Photos app holds on both your iPhone and iPad, setting up and using iCloud Photos may be a good alternative. You can turn on Optimize Storage for your photos to save some space on your devices. Please be sure to review all of the information in this article and get back to us with any questions you have before setting it up: Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support

In the meantime, this article provides steps to lessen the amount of space being taken up on your devices: How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support

We hope this helps.

Hey vladimirfrompraha,

After deleting the photos, were they permanently deleted from the "Recently Deleted" album in the Photos app? To check, follow the steps below.

1. Open Photos and tap the Albums tab.
2. Tap the Recently Deleted album.
3. In iOS 16, iPadOS 16.1, or later, use Face ID or Touch ID to unlock your Recently Deleted album.
4. Tap Select.
5. Select the photo or video that you want and tap Delete. If you want to delete all the photos and videos in the album, tap Delete All.
6. Tap Delete Photo to confirm.

When you delete a photo from this album, you can't get it back.

For future reference, the steps are located in this article: Delete photos on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. It also includes information about backing up photos and videos that you may want to keep and also how to delete the photos from iCloud. Restart the iPhone afterwards.

If that doesn't help, make sure the iPhone software is up-to-date. The latest version is IOS 16.5. To ensure your data remains safe, make sure you have a current backup prior to updating. To check and update, follow the steps below.

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If none of the steps above help, contact Apple Support here:Get Support. They will be able to look into this further with you.

Take care.

Thank You for Your answer.

Maybe I'm not able to explain my problem correctly, so I'll try once again.

I've deleted all the pictures from my iPhone but there remains 8,36 GB in Documents & Data of the Photos App. I understand that during the work with some apps (especially photo editing apps) its Documents & Data folder grows. Solution is simple: I just delete the app and install it back with empty Documents & Data.

Unfortunately I can't do this with Photos app because Photos app can not be deleted from the iPhone.

Thanks for Your patience and have a nice day
