Unable to add songs to Music

I am unable to add songs to my Music library. I was doing just fine, adding songs from a CD, and then suddenly it stopped "letting them in". I had been using Command + O to add them, so next I tried going to the individual songs and using Control + Right Click, but still nothing. (This is taking songs off of a CD, or the file from a CD, not trying to download from Apple, or Amazon, or internet)

Please help!

Thank you

Ogtel,

What kind of CD is it?

If it is an audio CD, see this guide for the procedure: Import songs from CDs into Music on Mac - Apple Support

If it is a data CD with the song files (MP3, etc.) on it, copy the file to your hard drive. Then right-click the file and choose Open With > Music. If the file is valid, this will start it playing and add it to your library.
