I find that many of my contacts are no longer in my iPhone contacts

after downloading ios 16.5 (at Apple's request) - my wife, my son, my daughter-in-law, my bank, my boss and many more contacts were no longer in my Contacts. Poof! Gone! How do I get them back? Can Apple undo ios 16.5 and cause my phone to revert back to its previous condition? The Notes section of many contacts had valuable hard to replace information. Ergggg!!

Hey howcanthishappen,

If you simply search for one of the missing Contacts, does it show up? Use Search on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Manage and delete contacts on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support -- Since most people pull their contacts from either their email account or use iCloud, is the account that houses your family’s information showing that Contacts is turned on? If not, does turning the account's Contacts back on bring the missing contacts back?

If you’re using iCloud to sync your contacts between devices, see if the steps in this article helps: Restore contacts stored in iCloud on iCloud.com - Apple Support

Please let us know the results when you're able.

All the best.
