ipod doesnt sync all of songs to pc

This has nothing to do with your iPod being "outdated". You cannot - and have never been able to - copy from the iPod to your iTunes Library or to the computer. Never. As previously stated, sync is one-way, from the PC to the iPod.

I'm not sure I fully understand what you've stated, but let me see if I can work it out. All the music that you copied from your CDs should still be in your iTunes Library on your computer. If it isn't, what happened to it? Did you delete the files from your computer, or are you using a new computer?

Regarding the music that is on your iPod:

music on your iPod is "on your iPod" and is from your iTunes library, regardless of whether it was originally from CD or from online purchases. However, if you used your iPod to purchase music from the iTunes Store (directly on your iPod), then when you sign into your iTunes account in your iTunes Library, the Store will download those purchases from the store to your iTunes Library (on your computer). It does not copy them from the iPod to your computer and since music that you had on CD didn't come from the iTunes Store, that music will not be copied from the iPod to your computer.

If you have music from your CDs on your iPod, the system won't sync that music back to a Mac or PC because the system was never designed to transfer that music in that direction.

You may or may not experience problems due to your iPod being "outdated" – but the system would not have supported what you wanted to do even when it was new. This may have been partly to allow close, seamless iTunes/iPod integration. It may have been partly to appease the record industry.

But the one-way nature of the synchronization is what it is, and has been common knowledge for a very, very long time.

Apple did not steal all of your personal songs. The basic model for computer-iPod synchronization is that it is one-way, from the computer to the iPod. (If you have an iPod Touch and you buy music from the iTunes Store, on the iPod Touch itself, then the synchronization process might upload or offer to upload that music.)

You should still have the CDs from which the songs came, and the iTunes/Music Library on your computer that contains the master copies (as far as the iPod/iTunes ecosystem is concerned) of those songs. While the iPod isn't designed to provide easy, flash-drive-like access to its copies of your songs, the iPod isn't doing anything that would keep you from going back to your CDs or your computer's iTunes/Music Library, and getting copies there.

If that's what the Apple Support Specialist told you, then the specialist was wrong. To my knowledge, every iPod is still recognised by iTunes.

You still haven't told us what happened to your iTunes Library. It would have contained all your music, from all sources and since you downloaded the music from it, it should still be there. Is that original library intact or have you changed computers and lost it?

If you are using a new computer, then I'll hazard a guess that the library was empty; you then signed into the iTunes Store, which caused your previous iTunes Store purchases to download onto your computer and that's it. So the remainder of your music is not in your library because you haven't added to the library. It's not Apple's responsibility to provide you with music that you purchased elsewhere.

What should have happened is that you would (or should) have created and maintained a backup of all your music. You then copy that backup to your new computer and add it to your new iTunes Library.

As stated, your mistaken theory is not useful, either to you or to this discussion.

Sync is one way, from the PC to the iPod, not from the iPod to the PC.

Are you trying to add music that is on your iPod to your iTunes Library on your computer? If so, where did the music come from, did you buy it from the iTunes Store, or somewhere else? If it was somewhere else, where?

iCloud has iCloud Photos – which lets you synchronize Photos libraries across various devices, using a hidden library that counts towards your iCloud storage.

It doesn't have anything similar for music. Each device has its own iTunes/Music library. If you have purchased music from the iTunes Store, you may be able to download it again on another device. If you have subscribed to the Apple Music streaming service, then you can access that on multiple devices.

But for music extracted from your own CDs, you still have to synchronize it the old-fashioned way.
