battery drainage

My battery went down 15% last night and i wasn’t even using it. notifications were off the display light was dim it was even on low power but STILL. What is wrong? the ONLY app that’s running is the Life360. So my sister can track me…

That's incredibly unusual.

now it’s only about a day and a half and it drains when not in use and even with the wifi and cellular off.

That's more like normal.

Charge your phone every night and you should be good to go all day.

I have an iPhone 5s and the battery charges to 100% but dies overnight. So you have to get a new battery. There’s a bunch of videos on YouTube but.. does your phone look fatter at all? Because that would mean the battery is overcharged. But to prevent this turn of wifi, cellular, and Bluetooth. And try to close out all your apps. Hope this helps!

A swollen battery does not mean that it is overcharged. It means it's old and needs to be replaced.

Force-closing apps actually uses more battery than leaving them open and suspended.

Sure, you can make your battery last longer if you turn everything off and don't use the phone but, what's the point in that?

it has wifi… i just got this phone last September, i couldn’t possibly need a new battery, i took care of it. Replacing this battery would be the worse case scenario. 😫 It could be the Life360 app that’s running, maybe..because it updates all the time when people come and go out of this house.

I do put music and videos on there by connecting it to my mac and syncing music on and whenever it connects with my computer it automatically charges when that wasn’t my intent. Could disconnecting and reconnecting to the mac which is a power scource be wearing it down? i hope not because that’s something i like to do. is put music on, take some off to spare space…etc.

(OOOPS! i just found i had another message about my battery…i’m sorry i forgot i could've just replied to that one.)

It wasn’t like this the first 4 months i had it this only started 2 months ago and just escalated from there, no rhyme or reason 🤷 the battery used to last up to 3 or 4 for days i didn’t even have plug it in within those days, now it’s only about a day and a half and it drains when not in use and even with the wifi and cellular off..🤷 Why the sudden change?

In fact i seem to notice that with a lot of Apple devices. when you first get them, the battery lasts for 4 days then after awhile they seem to drain and lost only 2 or 1 day. my ipad only lasts for not quite a day. (but i use it a lot anyway so…)

Well..🙂 I like to tell you something but it’s gonna be hard to believe. I took it off low power mode and.. the battery lasts a lot longer.🤷 Tuesday night i disconnected. I plugged it back just now. I thought low power would make the battery last longer because…well.. it’s LOW POWER meaning it won’t use as much power. I feel like i’m missing something here🙃☺️ i know i must’ve been thinking backwards or something 🤷
