Default files folder when attaching email

Is there a way to change the default folder when attaching files to email? For some reason my iPhone has started defaulting to a random sub folder when I try to attach files, and I have to back out of it every time to get to my iCloud folder. I'm not sure why it started doing this or how to change it back, any tips?

Hey Alf A'Lot,

We understand you'd like to change the default folder when attaching files to email. Using the Files app, you can create a folder on your iPhone or in iCloud Drive to save the attachments you use frequently. See

iOS 16.5 was released May 30, 2023. When you are ready, make a backup of your data and update to the most recent iOS.

Best wishes.
