Apple watch force restart trick

Hi,

my apple watch series 6 has encountered issues recently. A couple of months ago it started boot looping and then just recently it has decided just to turn off all together and all I have is a black screen since.

i remember when I first encountered issues and couldn’t power it on a couple of months ago, I found a thread in which someone recommended a force restart tricky whereby there is a special order/timed pattern to follow when pressing the side button and the crown button. I am NOT referring to just holding these buttons simultaneously (please don’t reply with his as a fix, as it doesn’t work.

if anyone has come across this trick too, i.e, pressing the side button three times then both the crown and side button simultaneously with some luck - please let me know!!!

thanks

Hi Lobster,

I’m not entirely sure why you are so upset and actually frankly being quite rude and insist on replying to me should you think I am being so naive. This is a forum, I can confirm I am not impressed by your posting commitments in the past and I don’t believe I have in any way led you to be so rude to me in reply.

If you cease to read my replies properly then I cannot help you. As stated, I did this before a couple of months back following a comment by someone who admitted they tested it out by accident and it worked for them. Perhaps you do not hold all the knowledge in the world and your time would be better spent being rude to someone else.

as per my last replies, thank you again for your responses, but I will be moving on from you now should you try to persistently undermine me.

have a nice day.

Thanks.

No. There is no other process to Force Restart an Apple Watch. If holding BOTH buttons at the same time isn't working for you, you'll have to schedule an Appointment at the Apple Store Genius Bar for evaluation and options.

Ps: If you own an iPad, there is a different sequence of button pushes to Force Restart an iPad, but that is not the same as Apple Watch.

NO, there isn't. There has NEVER been another method to Force Restart Apple Watch. And if you are going to sit here and wait for someone else to reveal this unknown and non-existent way, you'll be waiting a long time.

But since you choose to not believe me, someone who has been on this watch forum for years, who is one of the top contributors of all time in all things Apple Watch, that's fine.

I won't comment again, but will wish you luck waiting for this mythically, non-existent way to Force Restart Apple Watch.

Ps: If there was another way to do the procedure, don't you think Apple would have provided directions in their official support articles? Here is how Apple themselves explains how to Restart or Force Restart an Apple Watch --> Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Amazing that they don't offer any other way.........
