People Names displaying in Videos

Just today played some videos from my Photos app. For some reason, on a number of them, people names show up (like on a photo) while the video is playing. I've never seen this before (been using Mac since 1984!) and I can't seem to find a way to stop this behavior. Only happens on my Mac. If I view the same exact video on my iPad or iPhone, this does not happen.

Two example images attached. The first one is 4 seconds into a 24 sec video (BTW - the people tags are present at the very first frame of the video). The second screenshot is at 12 seconds into the video, after panning to the one side. The two people tags are in the same relative position in the frame as where they were in frame one.

As I was writing this post, I think I figured out what might be going on - it only seems to happen when the very first frame of the video has enough of a face(s) in it such that Photos app either identifies the face(s), or lists them as "unnamed".

Anyone else seeing this?

I'm thinking this is a bug, but maybe it's a new behavior? Is there a way to stop it?

Thanks for directing my focus to the right spot ... CASE CLOSED!

I found the setting in the Photos app - "Hide Face Names" - under the View menu. And I think I know what happened. That setting is probably off by default, but recently, I was going back through old photos and identifying faces that the app hadn't automatically ID'd. Doing so probably "flipped the switch" behind the scenes to Show Face Names.

Strangely, though, I would have expected to have seen this behavior sometime in the past. I've manually added or updated people names on photos before. But I guess I never looked at any videos thereafter (maybe the switch gets turned off after a period of time?).

I never play videos or even keep videos in the Photos application, but this behavior seems consistent with how the application deals with photos. I am away from my mac now but I think there is a setting you can deactivate regarding the showing of face names, and I am guessing it works for video just the same. In any case if you export this video or open it in another application like Quicktime Player, the names will NOT appear.
