Has something happened to keyframes in transform?

The last time I used fcpx, several months ago, I was transforming using keyframes, and the transform menu looked like the picture in John Burns tutorial. (see pic 1). This time there are no keyframe options showing in the inspector. (See the second pic, my own screenshot). The word KEYFRAMES is dimmed. Where are the controls? Are they only shown within the viewer now? Or am I doing something wrong? Here's pic 1. Pic 2 is a screenshot of my FCP
