I've done everything that is suggested here, but my Mac running Ventura does not sync with icloud. My photo library is on an external drive which I had to restore following a failure of the drive. Since the restore the Mac does not sync. Now What?

How do you get an iMac to sync to iCloud after a Time Machine restore to a new hard drive?

I am running Ventura and my previous hard drive prior to failure was working perfectly. My iPhone syncs with iCloud just fine, but not my iMac.

I can't possibly know what everything is nor if my understanding of everything is the same as yours.

You have signed into your AppleID using the same AppleID you did before?

You set your Photos Library to be the System Library in Photos Settings?

You enabled iCloud Photos in iCloud settings of the AppleID System Settings?

If you are including Desktop and Documents in the syncing, you enabled that in the iCloud Drive settings of AppleID System Settings?

yes I did all those things with now luck.

While trying to turn on /off photos iCloud syncing a alert message popped up.

Unfortunately my external drive with Photos Library was formatted ExFat.

I am in the process of transferring the contents of the drive to a properly formatted one to see if that works.
